Sharper Image Professional Series Ionic Breeze GP Silent Air Purifier (SI861BRL)
Every Professional Series Ionic Breeze GP comes with OzoneGuard, an aluminum honeycomb grid with advanced PremAir catalytic coating that instantly changes ozone (O3) molecules into oxygen (O2) molecules on contact. With this new OzoneGuard front grill in place, a meaningful portion of ground-level ozone that flows into the unit - including any trace levels of ozone by-product - is converted into oxygen before the cleaned air circulates back into the room. The all-new Professional Series Ionic Breeze GP Silent Air Purifier with ultraviolet germicidal protection and Zenion Effect has been enhanced with faster, better air cleaning. It features a slide-out trio of stainless steel collection blades with two interior stationary blades to divert airflow and increase the charged blades’ particle capture rate. Removable front and rear grills slide off for easy cleaning and you now can add negative ions to the flow of cleaner, fresher air. The GP model’s germ-killing Sterilamp uses safe UVC technology that is established in hospitals and recently shown to reduce respiratory symptoms of office workers when used in building ventilation systems. “Ideal for a good-size room of 500 square feet or massed. Electronic Air Purifiers - Facts For The Buyer

Posted in Air Purifier on November 13th, 2006

Abstract: Commercial Air Purifier

With pollution levels rising and the number of people suffering
from allergies increasing new

technologies have arisen that allow us to purify the air in our
homes. Air purification

systems range in emphaticness and price. If you or someone in
your family suffers from an

allergy or breathing disorder it is important to look at ways
that you can help these

conditions.

In the past you may have only been able to try and keep your
house regularly dusted as a way

to cut down on allergens in the air. This was never very
affective. Thankfully air purifiers

have been created, the outstanding being the electrostatic or
electronic air purifiers.

Electronic air purifiers are a safe way to keep the air in your
house particle free. This type

of air purifier does not rely on traditional filtration, but
uses the principles of

electrostatics to remove particles. Air passes through the
purifier and particles within it

are given a charge. These charged particles are then attracted
to collection plates, which

have an opposite charge, so the particles are drawn onto the
plates. This is an extremely

cogent method of removing unwanted allergens and particles
from the air.

Below we have listed some advantages and disadvantages of
electronic air purifiers to help

you.

Advantages of Electronic Air Purifiers

1) They are very silent and therefore much easier to live with.
If you have one in your house

it will be easier to leave on all the time as you will not
notice the noise.

2) The electronic cleaning cell ionizes microscopic dust
particles and is efficient and

trapping a wide range of allergens on the collection rods.

3) Electronic air purifiers do not use filters to collect the
contaminants. This means that

there is nothing to replace on a regular basis.

4) They only use limited electricity and do not need any special
wiring to install.

Disadvantages of Electronic Air Purifiers

1) Electronic Air Purifiers can be quite expensive. It is
important to spend as much as you

can afford on the system as the cheaper models will not be very
good.

2) You will need to regularly clean the collection plates
otherwise the electronic air

purifier will not be as energetic. This is quite a simple
process, but still needs to be done

on a regular basis.

3) If you have to go for a cheaper model then these will not be
as energetic and may be noisy.

Hopefully this has given you some insight into how electronic
air purifiers work and the

benefit they could potentially bring to your life. It is
important to take your time when

choosing which model to buy. Decide what your budget is and how
serious your problems are, as

this will help you decide what system to buy. Once you have an
electronic air purifier

installed in your home you will reap the benefit.

How to Get Relief during the Fall Allergy Season

Posted in Air Purifier on November 10th, 2006

Abstract: Alpine Living Air Purifier

Not only do temperatures and weather conditions change as the fall season approaches, but those annoying allergies you get every year, around this time, are likely to hit again. But dont worry just yet, there are ways to fight the annoyance so you can be as allergy-free as possible this fall.

Sometimes it is hard to distinguish whether the symptoms you are experiencing are due to a cold or allergies. The clear difference between the two is colds usually tend to be short-lived whereas allergies can run for weeks or even months. The most common allergy is pollen (also called hay fever), which causes symptoms to flare-up due to the pollen grains floating through the air. Allergies tend to occur when the seasons change and you may notice your allergies approaching at almost the exact same time every year.

There are many things you can do to help ensure you do not get allergies this fall season, and here are some of the most active prevention tips:

Close Your Windows - keep your windows closed in both your house and your car especially at night. This will prevent pollen and mold spores from entering your house and into the air you breathe.
Stay Indoors - staying indoors (with your windows shut) is probably the number one way to ensure you dont get allergies this season. Most of the pollen is found outdoors, so eliminate this allergic element as much as possible.
Use Your Air Conditioner - Turning on your air conditioner provides alleviation by cleaning, cooling and drying the air in your home. Dehumidifiers or air filters will also help in these situations.
Use Air Ionizers& HEPA Filters These products remove particulates from the air you breathe.
Protect Yourself - If it is necessary for you to go outside to do yard work (or for other reasons), protect yourself by wearing a mask or a cover-up of some sort to keep you from breathing in the contaminated air.
Take Showers and Baths - If you are outdoors for extended periods of time, take either a shower or a bath when you return home. Showers and baths will wash away some of the pollen that is left on your body. Changing your clothes when you come in from being outside is also a good idea.

If none of these things work for you and you find yourself suffering from allergy symptoms anyway, there are treatments which can help. Nasal Sprays, oral antihistamines and decongestants are all great for allergy aid. For itchy and watery eyes there are many forms of eye drops like Visine which you can purchase at any drugstore.

Immunotherapy (an allergy shot) is also a great way to help with your allergies this season. Check with your doctor before using any medications or treatments since some can potentially cause harmful side effects.

Air Purifiers – Will They Be Able To Help You?

Posted in Air Purifier on November 8th, 2006

Abstract: Electronic Air Purifier

The market for air purifiers has become big business these days. More and extra people are buying them, or those reading this report are probably in the process of selecting an air purifier for the home. It is without doubt that we are living in a world where air pollution is becoming higher of a problem. For some it can be worse than others, having a huge impact on their quality of life. We have written this report to look at some of the issues surrounding air purifiers in order to keep you better informed.

What does an air purifier do?

Allergens that exist in the air come in many forms. They may be dust particles, pollen, from pets or hazardous gases and smoke particles. These can cause misery for some people, which is where the need for an air purifier comes in. Air purifiers come in many different designs, but all work on the basis that they will remove high percentages of these allergens from the air. Air purifiers might use ionic filters, charcoal adsorbents or mechanical filters. Many people who suffer from such conditions as asthma, emphysema, allergies, chronic bronchitis, or any one of the many other respiratory illnesses, will probably tell you that they have benefited greatly by installing an air purifier in their home.

Do they work?

There is much controversy surrounding the cogentness of air purifiers. To date there has only been limited testing into the benefits. Users will claim great results, but some experts have raised concerns of possible placebo affect due to claims that many air purifiers are inconvincing at removing pollen, pet dander and some pollutants. It is also an area where the amount of money you spend could have big affects. The cheapest air purifiers on the market may be pretty much useless. The capital controversy at the moment surrounds the ionic air purifiers, which people doubt the convincingness of creating negative ions. Also these types of air purifiers omit ozone, a harmful pollutant.

What do I need to look out for?

When purchasing an air purifier you should look for one that uses HEPA filters. The HEPA filters have to meet stringent requirements and must be able to filter a minimum 99.97% of pollutants from the air. You should watch out for anything that describes itself as being “HEPA-like” or “HEPA-type” as it his highly unlikely that these would be genuine HEPA filters. Also look for the CADR of the particular air purifier you are looking at. This stands for Clean Air Delivery Rating and is a good indicator of how efficacious one air purifier will be compared to another.

Is there anything else I can do?

It is probably a good idea that you consult your doctor. They should be able to give you sound advice on whether your particular condition is likely to be improved by purchasing an air purifier. It might be an idea to invest in some good filters for any air vents that you have in your home, and spend some time making sure cracks in old door frames or windows are sealed properly. Many people also find positive results just through dusting and hovering major often, and getting rid of old mattresses and covering the new ones with covers that protect against dust mites.

As we said previously, many people find they really do benefit from having an air purifier so it is worth taking your time to look around and find out what all the options are.
